Taking Proactive Measures to Implement Tasks and Rising up to Challenges to Create Profits

—The Company Held Mid-Year Work Conference

On August 18, the Company convened its mid-year work conference to review the achievements of the first half of the year, analyze the current situation, and outline the objectives, tasks, and key initiatives for the remaining five months of the year. The conference aimed to mobilize all employees to take proactive measures in implementing tasks, overcome challenges to create profits, and resolutely win the battle for annual production and operations as well as the turnaround in profitability.

Company leaders Zhang Xiguo, Lin Xu, Suchart Phowatthanasathian, Li Ji, and Haytham Zamzami attended the conference. The conference was chaired by Vice President Li Ji.

In his speech, Zhang Xiguo, Chairman of the Board and Party Committee Secretary of the Company, pointed out that in the first half of the year, facing severe challenges, all employees forged ahead under pressure, tackled difficulties head-on, and demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility. They firmly maintained the fundamentals of safety and environmental protection, ensured overall stable production operations, and solidly advanced quality and profitability improvement initiatives. Positive progress was made in costs and fees reduction, energy conservation and consumption reduction, and market expansion, with key performance indicators effectively controlled, preliminarily reversing the passive situation.

Regarding the focus of work for the next five months, Zhang Xiguo put forward three key requirements:

First, firmly uphold bottom lines and red lines to solidify the foundation of safety and environmental protection. It is essential to remain vigilant about safety, reinforce safety awareness, tighten the chain of responsibility, strengthen the safety network, focus on strengthening fundamentals, address safety shortcomings, combine prevention with control, and strictly adhere to environmental red lines.

Second, concentrate on improving quality and reducing costs to win the tough battle of reversing losses and increasing profits. To this end, we must fully expand market presence to increase revenue, seize market opportunities, deepen operational optimization, tap into equipment potential, rigorously reduce costs and control expenses, explore additional profit improvement, drive innovation breakthroughs, and foster development momentum.

Third, we must strengthen Party building to unite efforts in pursuing our endeavors. We must enhance political guidance, solidify ideological foundations, fortify our strongholds, strengthen grassroots foundations, forge a capable workforce, inspire their sense of responsibility, nurture a healthy political ecosystem, and refine exemplary conduct.

At the conference, Acting President Lin Xu reviewed the Company’s performance from January to July this year, analyzed progress and highlights in safety and environmental protection, reliability, operational optimization, cost reduction, and profitability improvement, identified existing problems and gaps, assessed the current situation, and outlined key tasks going forward.

Lin Xu emphasized the need to maintain strategic resolve, bolster confidence in securing victory, proactively recognize, seek and adapt to changes, focus on our own priorities, overcome challenges, strive for breakthroughs, and spare no effort to accomplish all annual targets and tasks.

Vice President Suchart Phowatthanasathian stated that we are a unified entity, and it is hoped that under the leadership of the Board of Directors and OOP, every one of us will work together with determination to steer the Company in the right direction more swiftly and towards a more promising future, riding the wind and waves.

Vice President Li Ji emphasized that all departments and business teams must, in accordance with the arrangements of this conference and based on practical circumstances, diligently study and implement action measures. Adhering to goal orientation, task orientation, and result orientation, we should tackle challenges with the unwavering tenacity, resolutely completing the annual targets and tasks. 

During the interactive Q&A session, Company leaders also addressed questions of concern to employees.
